Evansville Police have identified the woman found shot to death in an apartment. She was 46-year old Angie Dixon. Family members found her late this morning. Investigators have spoken with family members about the circumstances surrounding the death. Sgt. Jason Cullum says there were signs of a struggle and a spent shell casing in her home in the Arbors at Evansville apartments.

It's the next big step for developing of the I-69 corridor. Indot says surveying has begun for the interstate in the Bloomington area. It says motorists should stay alert when traveling State Route 37 in Monroe County. Officials say the final segment - from Bloomington to Indianapolis - still needs funding and may be a decade away.

Another homicide investigation in Evansville - the second this week. Police are at the East Side Arbors Apartments where a family member reportedly found a woman dead in a pool of blood. Police Sgt. Jason Collum says a family member arrived home and found a woman dead on the floor, and there was a spent cartridge nearby, leading police to believe she was shot. Cullum says investigators are talking with family members to determine if the woman had been having problems with someone.

An Evansville man is being held without bond, facing nearly 50 preliminary counts of child molesting. 37-year-old James M. Meredith is accused of molesting a 12-year-old girl. Police say he admitted during an interview at Holly's House that he started engaging in sex acts with the girl in 2010, and it continued at an Evansville apartment on a weekly basis. Meredith faces 48 counts.

A consultant hired by the Evansville City Council is being paid to keep an eye on city finances, but one city councilman says he's not doing his job. Councilman Jonathan Weaver tells WIKY and 14 News that David Garrett is supposed to report to the council on a monthly basis, but he hasn't done so. City Councilman John Friend says Garrett isn't providing monthly reports because the Controller's Office didn't release its financial statements for the first three months of this year until May 21st. Firefighters say nobody was home when a fire broke out in a mobile home in Posey County. Marrs and Black township crews were called to the fire on Layer Road, near Caborn Road, at about 5:00 Thursday morning. They put out the fire, but the home was a total loss. No word on what caused the fire.

Evansville Mayor Lloyd Winnecke says the city is trimming $11 million from a proposal with Johnson Controls to modernize the city's water meters. The cost of the Smart City 2.0 contract was $53 million, but Winnecke says the creation of a city-owned fiber optic network is being removed. City Council members, who must approve the financing, have expressed concerns about the cost.

Vanderburgh County Coroner Annie Groves releases causes of the deaths of two persons. Groves says 56-year old Holly Usrey of 4940 Lenape Apartment-E died from herniation of the brain due to a blunt force contustion. Groves ruled the death a homicide. And Groves says 65-year old Thomas Zinni of the same address died from cardiac arrhythmia due to a cut left radial artery and ruled the death a suicide. Police responded to a call from a maintenance man at the Delaware Trace Apartments along North Green River Road who entered the apartment and saw a body Monday.

Beaver Dam Police Department could use some help in finding a missing Alzheimer's patient. 76-year old Billy Midkiff of Beaver Dam was last seen wearing a maroon short-sleeved shirt, shorts, ball cap, and glasses. He is about six feet tall and weighs about 240 weighs. He was driving a 2003 Buick Century 4 door that is brownish and tannish in color.
