Today might be a good day to take a dip in the swimming pool. First Alert meteorologist Byron Douglas says Tuesday was the hottest day of the year, so far, with a high of 88. But he says we'll top that today with the mercury reaching the low-to-mid 90s, and the heat index topping 100. Byron says he can't rule out strong storms this afternoon and tonight, especially north of Evansville. The mini-heat wave should end Wednesday, with temperatures about ten degrees cooler.
