Evansville lands a grant to deal with street crime - and Police Chief Billy Bolin says some of the money will be used for overtime pay as officers try to end the rash of shots being fired on the southeast side. The grant was announced by U.S. Attorney Joe Hogsett during a news conference at the mayor's office. He says the funds are from the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant program. Byrne was a New York City police officer, who became well known in the U.S. after he was murdered while on duty in 1988.
