Help has arrived to help Evansville deal with southeast side shootings and other street crime. The $50,000 award was announced by U.S.. Attorney Joseph Hogsett in Evansville Thursday. Hogsett says the funds are from the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant program. Byrne was a New York City cop, who became well known in the U.S. after he was murdered while on duty in 1988.
There's now an open letter on the EPD's Facebook page, about its response to all those recent shots fired incidents.
