A homeowner shoots a man who was trying to rob him inside his home. It happened at about 6:45 Tuesday night in the 500 block of Adams. Police say the suspect assaulted the homeowner, but he was able to arm himself during the attempted robbery and shoot the suspect, wounding him in the abdomen. The suspect took off, but police found him a short time later and he was taken to Deaconess Hospital. No word on his condition. The names of the homeowner and the suspect have not been released.

Fire damages a home on Evansville's North Side. A police officer alerted Central Dispatch about the blaze in the 2400 block of North Fares just after 1:00 Wednesday morning. When firefighters arrived, they found smoke coming from the house. They contained the fire to the kitchen. Authorities say nobody was home at the time, but the Red Cross was called to help three residents.

A military policeman who grew up in Owensboro will serve 16 years in prison and will be dishonorably discharged for selling secrets to an FBI undercover agent who he believed was a Russian spy. Specialist William Millay was sentenced Monday for guilty pleas to attempted espionage and other counts. An FBI Special Agent said Millay came to their attention almost two years ago, after he sent an email to a Russian publication seeking information about the military and made several calls to the Russian embassy.

The Evansville Otters will soon be playing ball for a good cause. The team is planning the 9th annual pre-season game with the Southern Illinois Miners. The game will benefit Jacob's Village and is set for Friday, May 10th, at Bosse Field. Jacob's Village President and CEO Cheryl Kuchna says previous games have raised $120,000 for the charity. Tickets can be purchased at Bosse Field, at area G.D. Ritzy’s locations, and at Jacob’s Village.

A number of Evansville-area residents were in Boston for the marathon. Phillip Frey of Newburgh says he had just finished the race, and was in a nearby park when he heard the two explosions. Another Newburgh resident, Michelle Walker, says she had just finished the race and was in the lobby of her hotel when she heard the two blasts. She says she could see the activity from her hotel room. There's no word of any local injuries in the deadly Boston bombings.

Two explosions rocked Boston this afternoon near the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Police Commissioner Edward Davis says the third happened blocks away at a busy location. Michelle Walker of Newburgh had just finished the race and was entering the elevavor of her hotel two blocks from the finish line when she learned of the bombings. She tells WIKY News her heart goes out to the victims and their families.

An Evansville man could face charges after a motorcycle crash that seriously injured him and a passenger on the bike. It happened at about 9:30 Sunday night on Wimberg Road, near a narrow railroad overpass. Alicia Gonzalez of Evansville told sheriff's deputies that she saw the motorcycle approaching the overpass from the other direction, so she pulled her SUV over to let the bike go through.

Another milestone for Easter Seals. Sunday's telethon raised more than $1 million for the Rehabilitation Center. That's $400 more than this year’s goal and just the second time the event has topped the $1 million mark. It was the 36th year that WEHT televised the event. This year, the final hour was broadcast on Local 7, WTVW.

Police arrest three Evansville men after officers say they found two one-pot meth labs inside a garage. Timothy Hudson is charged with manufacturing meth, following the discovery in the 1700 block of Hicks Avenue. Williard Norton and Tyler Ivey are also facing meth-related charges. Officers say Hudson's mother, who is in a wheel chair, was evacuated from the house because of a strong chemical smell.

A crash involving a motorcycle kills a man in Dubois County. It happened just after 3:00 Sunday afternoon at the intersection of State Roads 64 and 161. The sheriff's office says a car turned into the path of the motorcycle, throwing the driver of the bike onto the road. The man was taken to a hospital where he died. The driver of the car and a passenger were treated for minor injuries. The names of those involved have not been released yet.
